7:30 PM

This evening concert in two parts features a young and colourful group of local performers. Folk music lives on in a tradition of playing songs through generations. A special type of creativity happens when a musician draws on music from a time long before their own, in order to make connections to their current time and life. Our performers will be singing new songs with the flow and history of songs from times past.

These talented performers bring us musical styles from Celtic harp (Esther-Ruth Teel, who combines classical training and a love for folk music) to banjo (AP Doerkson brings influence from old-time mountain music, and Blake Candy has done a great deal of banjo-picking while living on the West Coast). Others are influenced by their surroundings: Daniel Tucker is inspired by his recent home on the East Coast, and Sean JE Baker brings us original songs from travels into the wilderness. Finally, Elissa Hart and Dylan Stone blend folk, rock, and country music to bring a style of their own.

*There will be no open stage this evening.
