Victoria Folk Music Society presents: Pennybrook
add to outlook add to google calendar remind me
At once ancient sounding yet thoroughly modern, Pennybrook (composed of Jude Pelley on guitar and Charlie Wilson on flute) specialises in instrumentals and soaring vocals. Their original compositions draw on traditional and contemporary influences, with their unique sound ranging from quietly contemplative to foot-stomping celebration.
Hailing from the East Coast, Jude has an impressive musical background, including hosting the Pennybrook Festival on his property and running his own recording/ production studio. Charlie enjoys a rich musical life and has recently become a sailing instructor. Following a successful crowd-funding campaign, Pennybrook are set to release their second album this fall.

Our feature act will be preceded by what is arguably Victoria’s best weekly acoustic Open Stage session where musicians from fledglings to professionals can perform a 10 minute set for one of the most welcoming, attentive and participative audiences in town. Aspiring Open Stage performers can sign-up with the VFMS Host between 7:00 and 7:30pm to do a set but should get there early to improve their chances of getting on the evening’s line-up.
