Victoria Folk Music Society presents: Tim Isberg

Originally from southern Alberta, Tim Isberg is a singer-songwriter who took a lengthy hiatus from music to serve in the Canadian Army, where he had the privilege and challenge of working among different cultures and conflict zones, seeing the best and the worst of what humanity has to offer. As a performer, he has entertained audiences in many and varied corners of Europe, east Africa, Afghanistan, and throughout the Middle East. Many of his ballads stem from these life adventures.
“There’s something to be said for a guy who can whip out a battered acoustic guitar and make his listeners think or feel something out of their ordinary sphere. Tim Isberg has a grasp of what goes on with a guitar neck, and his smart chord progressions and capable playing caught my ear right away!” — Simon Harrison, Star News

Our feature act will be preceded by what is arguably Victoria’s best weekly acoustic Open Stage session where musicians from fledglings to professionals can perform a 10 minute set for one of the most welcoming, attentive and participative audiences in town. Aspiring Open Stage performers can sign-up with the VFMS Host between 7:00 and 7:30pm to do a set but should get there early to improve their chances of getting on the evening’s line-up.
