Conductor Michael Gormley leads the Victoria Symphony through a concert dedicated to Czech composer Antonín Dvořák. Incorporating melodies of the folk music from his native Bohemia, Dvořák’s work reflects his love for his native land in the characteristic rhythms of his Slavonic Dances. His “New World” Symphony, also on the program, is his most popular symphony. The famous English horn melody that became known as “Going Home” is just on of the many beloved melodies of this symphony.
