Volunteer Appreciation Day at Nanaimo Community Gardens

Before we get started on planning another busy growing season, we want to take time to reflect on 2015 and those who made it so successful.
We will be starting with a workshop on seed saving by Jen Cody.
Jen is a local farmer and seed saver who has been active with the Central Island Seed Savers, the BC Food Systems Network and is currently participating in carrot seed research. Jen will speak about the importance of seed saving and will give pointers to experienced and novice seed savers alike about how to successfully save various types of seed. If you have questions be sure to come to this workshop and have them answered.
The workshop will be followed by a potluck and there will be plenty of time to chat will fellow volunteers and supporters. While there will be no formal ceremony, there will be door prizes for volunteers.
Come join us to meet board members, hear the latest news from Community Gardens, enjoy good food and meet your fellow volunteers. Please bring a dish to share.
RSVP would be appreciated to ensure we have enough space for all wishing to attend.
