Nanaimo & Area Land Trust Edible Wild Plants Project will be hosting a unique new event. The First Annual Wild Greens Festival at Bowen Park Auditorium. Admission is free.
Learn how to identify, ethically harvest, prepare and garden with local wild plants. All in all an excellent opportunity to experience these plants through all of your senses!
This one day event will showcase local chefs cooking delightful and decadent deserts and savory snacks with wild edible plants. These foods will be available for sampling from noon � 3pm for a small cost.

Also at this event we are pleased to welcome some very knowledgeable and dedicated speakers from various industries related to food security and native plants.
Other event features include guided plant walks, live music from local musicians, vendors of a wide range of locally produced food products and information kiosks of related community and NGO groups. We will have a kids zone for children to come and do crafts (and learn a little about wild plants while they are doing it) so parents can peruse the event independently.
